Nomads Fraser Island Tours are privileged to have been granted permission to locate our base camp on land owned by the island’s traditional owners, the Batjala people. A number of the Aboriginal elders live at the base camp on the island and will often share stories about their land and culture.
Our base camp offers permanent tent sites with covered BBQ cooking facilities (all crockery, cutlery and utensils provided) and access to fresh water showers and toilets. This means no more hassle setting up your tent and more time to explore the Island!

The beautiful Nomads Hervey Bay backpackers resort is located less than a minute from the beach and Hervey Bay’s cafes and features tropical gardens, swimming pool, large air conditioned bar with colonial style veranda overlooking the pool, air conditioned double and 4 share en suite dorm rooms and Didgeridoo making school with indigenous craftsman in the hostel.
